Fun runs are becoming increasingly popular all over the world, especially as a means to raise funds for various charities or to gain awareness for various causes. In the Philippines, particularly Metro Manila, fun runs abound all year long, thanks to the country’s tropical climate. The usual locations for such fun runs are Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Makati, the MOA grounds/area in Pasay City, Antipolo, Pasig (C-5, Tiendesitas, etc.), Marikina, and even Quirino Grandstand and CCP in Manila.

Aside from the obvious physical benefits, there are many advantages to joining fun runs. Here’s a quick rundown of reasons to take part in these friendly races.

  1. It’s not about the finish line. Fun runs are not about the competition, but are about bringing a sense of community and camaraderie to its participants. It’s not only a great way to bond with your family, but you can also meet and bond with new people, too. Fun runs are awesome events to connect with other people who care about the same cause as you do.

Fun runs will have varying distances — from 500 meters to the really tough 10K (or 10 kilometers).
